Help Keep Our Cemetery Peaceful
FLOWER POLICY
Fresh flowers will be left at the gravesite for 7-10 days, depending upon their appearance. After that time, they will be removed.
All artificial flowers must be placed ON the marker or tombstone and kept neat in appearance. Should these flowers be blown away during a storm or for any other reason be removed and not replaced by a family member of the deceased, they will be placed in the holding area next to the implement shed for 2 weeks. Then, they will be removed from the cemetery.
GRAVE OPENING & CLOSING
The family of the deceased or their representative will contact the cemetery's sexton to open and close a grave. Should the sexton be unavailable, the President of the Board of Directors of the Lonoke Cemetery Association should be contacted. The cemetery has contracted with a gravedigger to open and close all graves in the cemetery. As the grave settles, it will be leveled and smoothed. Nothing permanent such as rocks, trees or shrubs, artificial covers, fences, benches etc., may be placed at the gravesite. It is necessary for a lawn mower to pass over the graves when mowing. The family of the deceased will be contacted should any of these items be placed at a gravesite and asked that they be removed immediately.
MONUMENTS
The family of the deceased or their representative will contact the sexton to mark the plot and set the alignment for monuments. No marker will be set without the sexton notified and fees paid. Monument repairs are the responsibility of the family of the deceased. Should the family desire to remove a monument from the cemetery, the sexton or a board member should be contacted.
For any questions or concerns regarding our rules and regulations, please contact Eddie Pennington (Sexton) or Rick Bransford (President).
